Congratulations 2025 Awardees

On Friday, April 11, 2025 more than 200 Commissionaires and invited guests came together at the Annual Awards Banquet at the River Cree Resort and Casino to recognize the efforts of their colleagues for their Long Service Award and share this special occasion. Below is a list of this year’s Commissionaire Long Service Awardees as well as the 2024 Employee of the Year. We are grateful for all who attended the event and invite you to congratulate your fellow commissionaires on their long service and commitment to the Corps.

2024 Employee of the Year

Rebecca Falkenholt

Rebecca joined our Division on 20 October 2014 and has proven to be a vital asset to the Division. Rebecca has spent the majority of her time assigned to Maple Leaf Property Management Group (MLPM) at Canada Place rising through the ranks from Patrolman to Detachment Commander. Rebecca possesses an impressive wealth of knowledge and experience, and consistently provides exceptional service to our client.

As Detachment Commander, she directly supervises 24 commissionaires assigned to MLPM Group and indirectly assists six commissionaires assigned to other Federal Departments within the building. Rebecca is often sought out by Commissionaires, client and tenants of the building for assistance due to her breath of knowledge and ability to quickly resolve issues as they arise.

Rebecca’s proven supervisory skills, professionalism, de-escalation techniques and superb relationships she has created with our commissionaires, tenants and client positively contributed to the solid reputation of the Commissionaires. Rebecca’s constant dedication to this site has been proven time and time again; her calm demeanor and ability to de-escalate situations have earned her the trust and respect from our client and numerous tenants at Canada Place. Rebecca does not hesitate to step in and tackle tasks when required. Due to the fact that most tenants are Federal Departments (Passports, Service Canada, Citizenship and Immigration Canada etc.) the building sees a large number of people seeking services from these Federal Departments. On numerous occasions when security assistance has been required by the Federal Departments; Rebecca has provided guidance and oversight, which ensured incidents were resolved in an effective and satisfactory manner.

Rebecca displays empathy for others and will always try and help members of the community when required. Even though Rebecca’s duties at Canada Place have kept her busy, she unselfishly and enthusiastically volunteered to assist our Division with high profile events such as the Canada Day celebrations. Rebecca has completed the CSC Level 1 and 2 courses and was awarded a CEO Commendation in 2016 due to her quick action in providing first aid to an injured member of the public who visited the site. Her actions were recognized by both the EMS and EPS members who responded. In October 2024, she was identified as the Employee of the Month for her quick action in providing first aid to a houseless person who was severely injured. After EMS transported the injured individual off site, Rebecca ensured that the other commissionaires involved had access to the necessary support services, while ensuing the site remained properly staffed.

Rebecca’s continuous dedication to the Division, her Commissionaires and client have made her an ideal candidate for this award. We are very fortunate to count Rebecca among our ranks and we honour her, a solid ambassador for the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, as our 2024 Employee of the Year.
