A Continuous Commitment to High Standards

Commissionaires Northern Alberta Division applies a common standard of security training to all of its members. In lieu of a provincial standard, we train to the Federal Canadian Government Standards Board standard for security guards. Once Alberta establishes its own standard, Commissionaires will adopt it as their own.

The Division maintains its annual Certificate of Recognition for health and safety through the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

Our commitment to quality improvement is demonstrated through our ISO 9001:2008 certification program in conjunction with the Quality Management Institute.

Affiliations

Commissionaires are members of the American Society of Industrial Security. Most of our senior operations managers are ASIS Certified Protection Professionals, the gold standard for North American security managers.

Given that our people are our most precious resource, we are members of the Human Resources Institute of Alberta. Key staff are Certified Human Resource Professionals. Our finance group maintains memberships with the Certified Management Accountants and Certified Payroll Association.

Our reputation for excellence and quality service gives us a status few security service providers can match. As proof of our commitment to quality, we are proud to have applied for and received industry-recognized certifications such as ISO 9001-200 and Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB).

Many of our Commissionaires also have memberships in other organizations such as American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). These professional organizations are dedicated to developing high standards of education and training for security personnel.

ISO

The Commissionaires maintain a quality management and quality assurance program. In doing so, the Commissionaires is an ISO 9001:2000 certified organization. Therefore, we are part of an elite group of companies that follows ISO. The system model 9001:200 is defined as Production, Installation and Servicing. Today there are 110 countries that have to abide by the various Standards for the Management of Quality Systems. The Commissionaires are proud to be part of this group.

COR

In recognition of the established Safety Program the Commissionaires also have a Certificate of Recognition (COR) issued by Alberta Workplace Partnerships and WCB through Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA)

CGSB

Since 1979, the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) has delivered independent certification and qualification programs. Our CGSB certification is your assurance that we are committed to quality, that the goods and services we provide will perform as expected every time and meet standards and requirements as set by CGSB.

ASIS

Many members of our management maintain membership in the ASIS. ASIS International is the pre-eminent international organization for professionals responsible for security, dedicated to helping business better understand the constant changes in security issues, and to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security practices through educational programs.
