With over 1,700 members, the Commissionaires Northern Alberta Division has security professionals trained and available for most clients needs. The discipline inherent in our military and police veterans combined with the breadth of experience other Canadians bring to the task ensure our clients’ security needs are met.

In addition to 40 hours of basic security training at our training campus, our guards are qualified in first aide, receive appropriate site specific training and are backed up by our 24/7 operations center and mobile patrols. Guard tour management systems, work alone protection systems, multiple communication links as well as video surveillance and alarm systems are all examples of how we can enhance our guard services.

Whether it be government, law enforcement , critical infrastructure or smaller commercial firms, Commissionaires has the experience to deliver uniformed guard services as required. The Commissionaires uniformed, contract security helps protect assets and deter unwanted activities. Our uniformed security are carefully chosen, effectively trained, motivated, and rewarded for continuously improving their contribution to our client’s security and loss prevention programs.

We recruit and assign personnel who are exceptionally motivated to manage day-to-day security operations as well as crisis situations. Those with former military or RCMP service provide skills and knowledge that enhance the overall quality of our operations. Our personnel are service-oriented, dedicated, professional and bring the highest degree of maturity to each assignment. Our commitment to the highest standards of training includes the Commissionaires Security Guard Course (CSGC) and Supervisor Program, both which exceed Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) criteria. On-going specialized training courses ensure that our personnel attain the critical skills required to manage any workplace challenge. Our roles and responsibilities extend far beyond established security and policing duties. We provide our clients with highly qualified personnel capable of performing a variety of tasks and managing complex issues.

The Commissionaires operate a secure 24-hour Operations Centre. It is located within our headquarters at 10633-124Street, Edmonton and can be contacted at (780) 451-1974. The primary role of the Operations Centre is to schedule staff to ensure that all sites have personnel to fulfill the service agreement. In addition they must also ensure that all sites are covered in the event of vacation, sickness or injury, ensure the appropriate replacement is located, provide back up to Commissionaires on site and respond quickly to our client's needs.
